6WaysToFeelFreeAroundMoney

Do you feel like you have a passionate, exciting relationship with your money?  Does the thought of looking at your credit card statements light you up?

If the answers to these questions is a resounding, “No!” there’s no need to worry!  Today we’re going to talk about adding pleasure and play to your money routine.

For a lot of women, money can bring up intense emotions like anger, sadness, resistance, shame, embarrassment and fear.  Trust me, if that’s how you feel, you’re not alone.  I’ve felt all those emotions at one time or another when it comes to money.  Those reactions are actually quite common – even among women who make a lot of money and have a large savings account.

After working with hundreds of incredible women over the years, I’ve heard similar statements from women making over a million dollars to women deeply in debt.

Personally, I’ve had many exciting highs with money but also many trips to hell-and-back. There’s nothing like money to shake things up and show you what’s going on in your internal world and where things need to change.

It’s time to spice up your money relationship and add a dose of TLC, creativity and fun … Yes, FUN! 🙂 The more excitement and pleasure you add to your money experiences, the faster your financial situation begins to change.

Freedom.  Liberation.  Happiness.  Peace of mind and security await you!

Freedom begins when you start feeling more expansive and free around money, and that actually has nothing to do with the amount in your bank account.  It begins internally and moves outward.

Here are 6 things you can do immediately to shift your experience with money:
1.  THE POWER OF A NAME

Rename your bank accounts.  One of my friends named her accounts “I love money,” and “Money loves me.” Every time she looked at her accounts, it made her smile and started shifting how she viewed money.  This is a quick, fun thing you can implement immediately.

2.  GOODBYE BORING BUDGETS

Money is meant to be enjoyed a serve a purpose.  When creating your budget, think about the things you really desire.  Make sure to include them in your budget.  Design a budget that’s in alignment with your deepest heart’s desire, goals and values.  Also, have fun naming the different categories and allow your creativity to flow.  Your “budget” can be your path to freedom, liberation and ultimate pleasure!  It can ensure you get the things you really yearn for in your life.

3.  CHA-CHING REPORT

Track your income and expenses on a regular basis.  Yes, I know this may not sound like fun, but trust me on this one!  These reports allow you to determine if you’re spending money on the things that are important to you and light you up.  Tracking your expenses is not necessarily about spending less.  You may find that you’d rather be spending money on a day at the spa or a new, chic wardrobe in preference to going out to eat all the time or vice versa.

As for tracking your income, remember, “Whatever you focus on expands.”  As you watch your income increase and place attention (and “intention”) on it, it will continue to rise.  Also, you’ll be more motivated to take actions that lead to greater success.

4.  YOU DESERVE A PAYDAY

Yes, you deserve to be paid too.  You may even deserve a large pay increase! As an entrepreneur, it’s easy to invest all your money in your business, but it’s really important to set money aside for yourself.  If you’re hesitant to do this, start small and gradually increase the amount you pay yourself.

5.  PLEASURE ACCOUNT

This goes hand-in-hand with paying yourself.  You want to make sure you set aside a portion of the money you receive just for fun.  I’ve noticed both with myself and my clients, when you restrict yourself on a regular basis and deprive yourself, you’ll overspend at some point – which can often be much more expensive and detrimental to your self-esteem and goals.  Put aside an amount that feels really good to you that allows you to have fun and also move towards your other financial goals.

6.  MONEY DATES

Turn on some soothing music, light a candle, grab a green juice or latte (whatever sounds yummy and delicious to you), and let the games begin! This is the time for you to take action and do all the things we just discussed.  Maybe you want to read a “wealth consciousness” book like Think & Grow Rich for Women, Rich Bitch, or Emotional Currency.  This is your time to become intimate with your money and create a new relationship.

There are so many ways you can start having more fun with your money!  Do what sounds interesting to you and allow your unconscious mind to give you even more ideas.  You can easily begin shifting your experience with money and create a totally new, fulfilling experience.
