Sacred. Sexy. Money.

Money is such an incredible blessing.

It fuels our dreams.

It feeds us (literally).

It provides us with unlimited opportunities.

It funds research.

It allows us to follow our dreams, and it empowers us in so many ways.

When I think of the word, “money,” so many words come to mind …

Impact.  Freedom.  Opportunities.  Nourishment.  Possibilities.  Health.  Abundance.  Joy.  Excitement.  Gifts.  Service.  Ease.  Fun.  Peace.  Choices.

There was a time when these kinds of words didn’t enter my mind when I thought about money.

When I looked at my bank account, I felt fear, anxiety, stress, embarrassment and panic.

It’s amazing how much can change when we dedicate our time, attention and focus on something.

It’s as if “magic” takes over, and things shift in ways we never thought possible!

It’s not magic, however.  It’s intention, attention, dedication and devotion.

When we make a commitment and follow through with action, the world opens up in new, expansive ways:

  • You can grow your bank account and build wealth (whatever that means to you).
  • You can create a business that funds your desires and supports your family.
  • You can travel the world doing work that lights you up and feeds your soul.
  • You can donate to your favorite charities and make a bigger impact.
  • You can spend time nurturing your relationships and creating deeper intimacy.

Caring for your finances is simply another way of caring for yourself.

It’s a way of loving and cherishing yourself.

It’s being in integrity with yourself and honoring your deepest needs.

It’s being a role model to those around you and showing them what’s possible by creating a new money dynamic.

Spending time on your finances is equally as important as going to the gym – preparing healthy foods – nourishing your family – and working on your business.

Money plays out in all areas of your life – from your relationships, business, family, and self-worth to your ability to fund your dreams, support your family and do the things you desire.

It leaves no stone unturned!

Last week we started a 7-week “Money Dare” journey by taking an assessment of your money situation.

>> Click here if you have yet to answer the questions.

This week, it’s time to take a deeper dive into money.  We’re going to explore your thoughts about money, your history and begin the process of shifting your beliefs, healing your wounds and creating a new association with money.

1.  Money As Spiritual Path

Money is beautiful and sacred and is a mirror for so many things in life.  It can show you where you’re blocked and have limiting beliefs and where you can expand and evolve.

It provides you with the opportunity to show yourself love, compassion, and acceptance.

It’s a journey about patience, forgiveness, tenderness and non-judgment (for yourself and others).  It can lead to healing, growth and profound insight.

Use this time to really go within and ask yourself, “What can I learn from my relationship with money?  How can I heal at a deeper level?  How can I use money for my empowerment?”

2.  Money + You

Take out your “Money Dare” journal, light some incense, grab a green juice or latte, and answer the following questions:

  1. Describe your family’s blueprint around money – their thoughts, beliefs, habits and mentality around it.
  2. Describe your own relationship with money.
  3. What is your money story?  How do you feel about money?  What are your concerns or beliefs around money?
  4. What wealth consciousness practices are you currently using?  Are you doing these things consistently (ideally on a daily basis)?
  5. Do you feel you have a healthy relationship with money?

3.  Money Alignment + Flow

Money is energy.  It’s neutral.  It’s a state of mind.  You determine whether it brings you happiness or brings you to your knees.

Here’s a money mantra for you to play with this week:

It feels easy.  It feels expansive.  It feels effortless.  It feels abundant.  It feels exciting.  It feels sacred.  It feels liberating.  It feels safe.  It feels supportive.  It feels nourishing.  It feels empowering.  It feels free-flowing.  It feels ever-present.  It feels divine.

4.  Money Date

It’s time to start having a love affair with money and creating a new, healthy relationship that feels empowering, supportive and expansive.

This week, set aside at least 20-30 minutes to become intimate with your finances.

During this time, you can check your credit card statements, log onto your bank accounts, track your expenses, create a values-based budget, go over your investments or anything else that feels like the next best step for you.

Remember, there’s no “right” or “wrong.”  Take inspired action, and do something to up-level your current money habits.

As always, take as much time as you need to do these things, and be as loving and compassionate with yourself as possible.  It takes time to create new habits, and diving into this topic isn’t for the faint of heart.

It takes a lot of courage to do this work.  I promise you, each week it gets easier.  Stay the course.

You deserve to liberate yourself.  You deserve to feel empowered. You deserve to have the desires of your heart.
